The meeting was held at Carefree
Conference Resort,
approximately a 45-min drive from the Phoenix Sky
Harbor International Airport (PHX)
and downtown Phoenix. This resort rests in the foothills
of the Continental Mountains and is surrounded by the Sonoran Desert with its endemic saguaro cacti. The nearby
small towns, Cave Creek and Carefree, are old towns with a new flavor. The Cave
Creek Museum showcases "Wild West" history. Down the street, several small
art galleries exhibit the work of local artists.
Coffee houses and specialty boutique stores are
numerous.
