| This Phoenix meeting took the baton from the series of Pharmacology of Thermoregulation Symposia (1972-1999), the Symposia on Thermal Physiology (run as satellites to the IUPS Congresses; 1972-2000), and the First Integrated Symposium on Physiology and Pharmacology of Temperature Regulation (2004). |
| The meeting was held in the Carefree Conference Resort, on March 3-6, 2006 (see Location). It gathered 182 scientific participants from North America, Asia, Europe, Australia, South America, and Africa. |
|
The major presentation form at the meeting was Poster; poster presentations are listed in the Program: Day 2 and Day 3. The meeting also included an introductory lecture (see Program: Day 1), ten symposia (see Program: Day 2 and Day 3), a workshop on Thermometry 2006, and a session for presentations of award-winning original-research papers by students and postdoctoral fellows (see Program: Day 4). Symposia were devoted to topics in the rapidly progressing areas of broader interest. Each symposium consisted of 30-min review lectures. Topics of Symposia 1-10 were selected based on proposals received. Original-research presentations were made by the winners of the Young Scientists Competition. |

In connection with the meeting, the American Journal of Physiology - Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology opened the Special Call for Papers on Physiology and Pharmacology of Temperature Regulation (Andrej A. Romanovsky, Guest Editor). Submission of manuscripts to this call is now closed. Accepted papers have been published in the American Journal of Physiology - Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology (vols. 57 and 58) and will continue being published through the year 2006 (vols. 59 and 60). |
| In connection with the meeting, the Journal of Thermal Biology published the Special Issue on Physiology and Pharmacology of Temperature Regulation (Andrej A. Romanovsky, Joachim Roth, and Alexandre A. Steiner, Guest Editors): 2006, vol. 31, Numbers 1-2. |
